Major League Baseball investigators are set to interview New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and question him about his possible connection to the South Florida Biogenesis clinic suspected of disturbing performance-enhancing drugs to major league players, reports USA Today.

Rodriguez is playing for the Yankees Class A Tampa affiliate as tries to work his way back into the lineup after having hip surgery in the offseason.

Rodriguez told the New York Daily News that he didn't know of a meeting, but "if I knew, I couldn’t share with you guys. We’ve been fully instructed not to comment on that case."

MLB has documents obtained from Biogenesis, along with interviews with its founder, Anthony Bosch, who agreed to cooperate with the investigation after months of denying that he was even involved or knew the players.

SI WIRE: Report: MLB expected to suspend Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun among others after All-Star break

ESPN reported earlier Tuesday that Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun refused to answer questions during June 29 questioning by MLB investigators. MLB plans to suspend Braun, Rodriguez and as many as 20 other players linked in published reports to Biogenesis. The suspensions would not happen until after the All-Star break, and most likely will be appealed.
