The Minnesota Timberwolves and center Nikola Pekovic are close to finalizing a four-year, $50 million extension, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

In three seasons of work with the Wolves, Pekovic has proven to be a bonafide NBA big man capable of scoring in the post (16.3 points per game last season), rebounding (8.8) and defending the paint while complementing Kevin Love's offensive game.
