Dodgers' Yasiel Puig being sued for $12 million by man in Cuba

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is facing a $12 million lawsuit by a man in Cuba who alleges Puig made false accusations that landed him in prison, according to the Los Angeles Times'Dylan Hernandez.

Miguel Angel Corbacho Daudinot is seeking damages for “prolonged arbitrary detention and torture” while in prison in Cuba. Corbacho Daudinot's complaint was filed in district court in Florida.

Puig and his mother are being referred to as "informants" for the Cuban government, and Corbacho Daudinot alleges that Puig made false claims against him to show his loyalty to the Cuban government. In 2010, Puig and his mother testified in a case against Corbacho Daudinot in which Corbacho Daudinot was convicted of human trafficking. Corbacho Daudinot denied he ever tried to help Puig escape from Cuba.
