Jags' Maurice Jones-Drew cleared to start training camp
Jones-Drew will most likely be eased into the practices after having Lisfranc surgery in his foot almost eight months ago, which caused him to miss the final 10 games of the season. He also didn't take part in OTAs or minicamps while recovering from the injury.
"Extremely excited about progress he's made," said Jaguars coach Gus Bradley.
Jones-Drew said that he was starting to run on the foot and wanted to lose more weight, seeking to get down to the 212-215 pound range to start the season.
"I don't need to drop much (weight), just a little more so I can get comfortable," he said. "I'm the same guy. I've been training the same way, like I wasn't hurt."BURKE: Key injuries to monitor as preseason approaches
