Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Michael Young would waive his no-trade clause for deals to the Texas Rangers or Boston Red Sox, reports FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
Initial reports Tuesday said that Young would only accept a trade back to the Rangers. Until he was sent to Philadelphia last offseason, Young had spent his entire career with Texas.
The Phillies, 11.5 games back in the National League East, are potential sellers before Wednesday's non-waiver trade deadline.
Young has started 91 games at third base this season and is hitting .279 at the plate. The Rangers are set at third base with Adrian Beltre but sorely need a right-handed bat to boost their lineup. The team's designated hitters this season are batting only .256. Earlier Tuesday, Philadelphia called up third baseman Cody Asche, a fourth-round pick in 2011.
