Jairus Byrd reportedly orchestrating trade from Bills

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd and his agent are trying to force a trade before the Oct. 29 league deadline, according to Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News, citing an executive from another NFL team and another agent not employed by Byrd.

In late August, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that Byrd was open to a trade but not neccesarily demanding one, adding that "ill will remains" between Byrd and the Bills.

News of the 26-year-old now reportedly demanding a trade comes days after reports that he would miss the first few weeks of the season because of a plantar fasciitis injury. Despite the injury, Gaughan reports that head coach Doug Marrone said there's a possibility that Byrd could be available for the home opener.

He missed the entire preseason after holding out of training camp as an attempt to leverage a long-term deal. He eventually signed a one-year franchise tender with the Bills for $6.9 million.

Last season, he recorded 79 tackles, five interceptions and four forced fumbles.

The Bills open the regular season Sept. 8 in an afternoon game at home against the New England Patriots.
