Dennis Rodman will be training the North Korean basketball team for the 2016 Olympics, Rodman announced during a press conference in New York on Monday.

The former NBA forward visited Pyongyang for the second time in six months last week to meet with North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un. Rodman also plans to stage two exhibition games in North Korea next year with a team of former NBA players.  Rodman hopes to stage the first exhibition game on Jan. 8, 2014, which is Kim's birthday.

During his latest visit to North Korea, Rodman said he was the first foreigner to hold the leader's newborn daughter. Rodman said Kim offered the NBA Hall of Famer  the opportunity to train North Korea's basketball team for the Olympic Games. Kim also asked Rodman to write a book about his life, Rodman said.
