Reports have Chargers defensive end Dwight Freeney in danger of missing the rest of the season with a torn quad.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports a source saying Freeney suffered a torn quad that is believed to be a long-term injury.

ProFootballTalk reports a first reading of the MRI revealed Freeney has torn his quad tendon, but that there will be a second opinion after further evaluation of the film. If the second reading concurs with the first, Freeney will be at serious risk of missing the rest of the season.
