Texans' Brian Cushing out for 3 months with LCL tear, broken fibula

A torn LCL and broken fibula will keep Brian Cushing on the sideline for three months.

Houston linebacker Brian Cushing will likely miss the rest of the regular season with a torn LCL and broken fibula in his left leg, according to NFL.com's Albert Breer.

Cushing was injured in the second half of the Texans loss to the Chiefs on Sunday, when Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles delivered a lower body block to a blitzing Cushing. At the time of the play, several Texans players seemed to disapprove of Charles low block, but the two players later spoke over twitter and squelched the idea that it was a dirty play.

Cushing played in only 5 games last season, after being sidelined with an ACL injury, also in his left leg. He is expected to have surgery within the next few days.
