The Houston Texans cut three rookie players on Monday for a violation of team rules at the team hotel in Kansas City, the team announced.
The Texans lost to the Chiefs 17-16 on Sunday.
The team waived defensive end Sam Montgomery, linebacker Willie Jefferson, and running back Cierre Wood. All three players were sent home Sunday morning before the Texans game.
Montgomery was a third round pick out of LSU in April's NFL Draft. Jefferson and Wood were undrafted rookies.
