TCU QB Casey Pachall available to play vs. Texas

TCU quarterback Casey Pachall will be available to play in Saturday's game against Texas after missing the past six weeks with a broken left arm, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Pachall has not played since Sept. 7 when he broke his arm in three places in a victory over Southeastern Louisiana. He was originally supposed to be out for eight weeks but already has been out of a cast for the month.

Trevone Boykin has started in Pachall’s place.

TCU ranks 109th in the NCAA in total offense and 100th in both passing offense and team passing efficiency and are seventh in the 10-team Big 12 in scoring offense.

Texas coach Mack Brown said his team will have a different game plan just in case Pachall plays.

“It does. Because they’re different, it makes it more difficult to prepare for because you’re going to have more options, quarterback draws and runs with one [Boykin] than you would with Tyler Matthews or Casey Pachall coming off of an injury,” Brown said. “It is more difficult for the unknown.”
