Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson will sit out an exhibition game, the regular-season opener and the first two SEC games for his conduct during the 2012-13 season, SEC and NCAA Tournaments, and his behavior since the end of the season, the school announced Tuesday.

Henderson was suspended by the team in July after authorities said he had been found with what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana and cocaine, but he was later cited for not having proof of insurance.  It was part of three run-ins Henderson had with police in Oxford, Miss., over the summer.

Henderson will miss the season opener against Troy on Nov. 8 and games against Auburn (Jan. 9) and at Mississippi State (Jan. 11). He will also sit out the exhibition game on Friday against South Carolina-Aiken.

"If I was a betting man -- not that I am -- but if I was a betting man, I would say that his lesson has been learned and he's looking forward to the opportunity to play in the SEC," Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said earlier this month.
Henderson led the SEC in scoring last season and guided the Rebels to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 13 seasons.
