The Miami Dolphins and suspended guard Richie Incognito reached an agreement to extend Incognito's suspension with pay while Ted Wells finishes an investigation of the team's workplace, reports NFL.com's Jeff Darlington.

That agreement still needs league and NFL Players Association approval, according to the report.

Incognito was suspended indefinitely on Nov. 3 for conduct detrimental to the team for leaving threatening voicemails to tackle Jonathan Martin. Martin left the team in October.

The rules of the league's collective bargaining agreement prevented the team from suspending Incognito beyond four games.

More from NFL.com:

Incognito has lost $235,294 for every game he's been suspended. He met with Wells last week in a meeting that lasted a total of eight-and-a-half hours and took two days to complete.
