Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant competed in a full scrimmage in practice today and was even able to dunk, encouraging some to believe he may be ready for action as soon as this Friday, according to Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk.
Bryant is expected to return soon from a torn Achilles he suffered in his left ankle last April, and Tuesday's practice was viewed as a step forward, with several of those present noting that the former MVP looked sharper than he had only a week ago.
The Lakers are currently battling injury problems, as point guard Steve Nash, who also practiced briefly, is still out with a back ailment and Jordan Farmar is sidelined for a month with a torn hamstring. Center Pau Gasol has also been bothered by a sprained ankle over the last week.
