The Houston Texans have fired head coach Gary Kubiak, owner Bob McNair confirmed at a press conference on Friday.

The MMQB's Peter King had previously tweeted that he expected Kubiak to be fired on Friday. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer was the first to report that Kubiak had been fired.

The Texans, who had been expected to be one of the AFC's top teams this year, have lost 11 straight games and have the worst record in the NFL.

Houston lost 27-20 to the Jaguars on Thursday night. Wade Phillips will be the team's interim coach.
