Alexander Steen, Blues agree on 3-year, $17.4 million extension

The Blues and forward Alexander Steen have agreed to a three-year, $17.4 million contract extension, according to the team.

Steen has scored 20 goals in his first 24 games, and leads the Blues in goals (22) and points (36) this season and is tied for second among all NHL players with 22 goals. He became the first Blue since 1999-2000 to record at least a point in 13 straight games.

Steen has totaled 339 points including 145 goals and 194 assists to go along with 246 penalty minutes in 570 career games over nine seasons.
