A Massachusetts judge seized former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez’s mansion as part of a pending wrongful death lawsuit, according to the Boston Globe.

Judge Richard Moses' order in Bristol Superior Court attached the North Attleborough mansion and froze Hernandez's assets at the request of the family of Odin Lloyd, as part of their suit against Hernandez. Hernandez has been jailed since June while awaiting trial on charges of murdering Lloyd.

An attorney representing Hernandez in the criminal case did not object to the order, but requested that the matter be revisited at a later date.

The order allows the home to be sold, but the proceeds from the sale would be frozen.

Lloyd’s family is also seeking to block the $3.25 million payment the NFL Players Association claims Hernandez is owed by the Patriots. The family has filed court papers requesting that the funds be awarded to Lloyd’s estate when the lawsuit is resolved. A lawyer for the Patriots said the team would not pay Hernandez, should the union prevail in their pending labor grievance.
