Former South Carolina All-America defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said he hopes that he will be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft this May.

The Houston Texans have the first pick and have multiple needs they need to address, including finding a franchise quarterback. Clowney is expected to be a top draft pick after registering 24 sacks in his three seasons at South Carolina.

"I just think I should be the No. 1 pick taken in the draft, overall. So we'll see how that goes," Clowney said Thursday on the Dan Patrick Show.

Clowney also gave a preview of what scouts can expect at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this month, saying he did 23 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press and that he was going to run at the combine and aims to run in the 4.4 range.
