Knicks guard J.R. Smith has fractured cheekbone

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith suffered a minor fracture in his left cheekbone in Sunday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but is not expected to miss any time with the injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Smith was injured with 7:25 left in the fourth quarter of the 112-100 loss when his face collided with Thunder forward Kevin Durant's knee.

Smith was fitted for a facemask on Tuesday and is expected to play on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings.

Smith, last season's Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging 13 points and four rebounds in 44 games this season.
