Ex-NFL safety Darren Sharper was charged with drugging and raping two women in Los Angeles, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Sharper is also being investigated for rapes in New Orleans, Arizona and Nevada.

Sharper, 38, is charged with felony counts of possessing morphine and zolpidem; two counts of rape by use of drugs; four counts of furnishing a controlled substance; and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities in California say Sharper met two women at a nightclub on Oct. 30, 2013, and invited them to a party. Instead, according to authorities, Sharper went to a hotel room with the women and allegedly gave them liquid shots containing Ambien and morphine, causing them to pass out. Authorities say one woman woke up while Sharper was assaulting her, while the other woke up naked hours later.
