Syracuse freshman guard Tyler Ennis to enter NBA draft

Syracuse freshman Tyler Ennis will forego his final three seasons of eligibility and enter the NBA draft, the school announced Thursday.

Ennis, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Brampton, Ontario averaged 12.7 points, 5.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 34 games for the Orange this season. He led the Atlantic Coast Conference in assists and steals. Ennis also hit 41 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range.

"I'd like to thank Coach Boeheim, the coaching staff, my teammates and the amazing fans of Syracuse for the opportunity to play at a great university like Syracuse," said Ennis. "I feel this experience has helped prepare me to fulfill my lifelong dream – to play in the NBA."

In his final game, a 55-53 loss to Dayton in the NCAA tournament, Ennis played 40 minutes, scoring 19 points on 7-of-21 shooting.
