Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will miss the team's game against the Houston Rockets on Sunday with a sprained ankle, according to the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey

Lawson suffered the injury on Friday night in the fourth quarter of the Nuggets 100-92 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, but told Dempsey that he hoped to recover quickly.

"It's a normal sprain, but this is probably the worst one I've had," Lawson said. "Hopefully a couple of days I'll be back right, get the swelling down."

Coach Brian Shaw said the team would not rush Lawson back onto the court this season.

With fellow point guard Nate Robinson out for the season with an ACL tear, the Nuggets will start Aaron Brooks in place of Lawson.
