New Mexico center Alex Kirk will forego his final season of eligibility and declare for the NBA draft, the school announced Friday.

Kirk averaged 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds this past season for the Lobos, who finished 27-7.

He was a third-team All-Mountain West selection and was named to the conference's All-Defensive team. In the team's final contest, a 58-53 loss to Stanford in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament, Kirk only had three points and six rebounds in 26 minutes.
