Missouri has hired Central Missouri's Kim Anderson as its new men's basketball coach, the school announced Monday.

The school said Anderson -- a Mizzou alum -- will be officially introduced at a press conference on Tuesday morning. Anderson replaces Frank Haith, who left earlier this month to take the head coaching job at Tulsa.

Anderson coached the University of Central Missouri to a 30-5 record last season and a Division II National Championship.

"We are pleased and excited to have Kim Anderson leading our program. He's a man of great character, integrity and respect. He has demonstrated the ability to mentor young men on and off the court, academically and socially. He's a proven winner on all levels, and he's built tremendous relationships around the country in the basketball community, which assists greatly with recruiting and other important aspects for a program," athletic director Mike Alden said.

Anderson spent 12 seasons at Central Missouri and complied a 274-94 record, with seven NCAA Tournament appearances and three Final Fours. Anderson, 58, also spent 11 seasons on staff at Missouri over two stints (1982-85 and 1991-99).

HAMILTON: Five winners (Kentucky, Lousville) and five losers (Michigan, UCLA) from NBA draft decisions
