Mets 1B Lucas Duda robbed after moving company hired by team accesses apartment
Mets first baseman Lucas Duda was reportedly robbed this week after a moving company hired by the team accessed his apartment, according to a report from Tina Moore and Mark Morales of the New York Daily News.
The 28-year-old had returned home from a recent road trip when he found that approximately $1,500 of belongings had been taken from his apartment in the midst of his move to a new apartment. Among the items missing were a checkbook, a knock-off Breitling watch, two jackets and a bracelet, according to the report.
Duda filed a complaint with the NYPD on April 26, approximately three weeks after he he had left town on April 6. When he returned home from the road trip, the front door to his apartment was open, and several items belonging to him were missing. According to the report, he had given the moving company access to his apartment before he had left for the team's road trip. Police continue to investigate.
