Former San Diego State running back Adam Muema said he is quitting football and plans to try boxing or ultimate fighting.

Muema mysteriously disappeared during the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis in February without participating in any of the workouts, only to resurface days later at an airport.  Muema said that God told him to leave the combine and that he would play for the world champion Seattle Seahawks if he skipped the combine.

"I don't like being a slave to money or coaches," Muema said, via ESPN.com. "I prefer an individual sport."

The former Aztec said he went on vacation during last week's NFL draft and didn't answer his phone or check his voicemail. He was not selected during the draft.

Muema rushed for 1,244 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior last season for San Diego State.
