Tony Parker day-to-day after MRI reveals mild hamstring strain
To advance to the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs will need All-Star point guard Tony Parker playing at full speed. Whether he will able to is now in question, after the Spurs announced Thursday that an MRI revealed Parker has a grade one strain in his left hamstring, and that he is day-to-day.
Parker left Game Five of the team's playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night in the second quarter with the injury. The Spurs cruised without him, winning 104-82 to win the series 4-1. To advance past the Western Conference final, though, San Antonio needs Parker to be healthy. He will have a difficult matchup one way or another, either against Thunder All-Star Russell Westbrook or Clippers All-Star Chris Paul.
