Matt Wieters won't come off the Orioles' DL when he's eligible on May 26, according to Baltimore manager Buck Showalter. The news was tweeted on Sunday by Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun.

The two-time All Star, who turns 28 on Wednesday, received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his elbow last week and is clearly behind his rehab schedule. Before the injury, he was projected to put up career numbers with averages of .308/.339/.500 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 112 plate appearances.

The Orioles are 22-20 and second to the New York Yankees in the AL East.
