Mets place Eric Young on DL with hamstring injury

The New York Mets placed outfielder Eric Young, Jr. on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled hamstring, the team announced Monday.

Young did not play in the either game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The team recalled Matt den Dekker from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Young's roster spot. He was hitting .269 with four homers in 47 games in Vegas.

Young is batting. 220 with one home run, seven RBI and a .315 on-base percentage in 141 at-bats this season. He is also third in National League with 17 stolen bases.
