Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph is in the midst of preliminary discussions for a long-term contract extension, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

The two-time All-Star, who turns 33 this summer, has until June 30 to use his $16.5 million player option or test free agency. He made $17.8 million this season. As Wojnarowski points out, Randolph has not been shy about his desire to finish his career in Memphis.

According to the report, Randolph and new Grizzlies owner Robert Pera have spoken in the past week about the long-term contract.

Memphis is currently undergoing front office changes, including a search for replacements for the recently fired CEO Jason Levien and assistant general manager Stu Lash.

Randolph averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds this past season for Memphis, which lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.
