With Knicks president Phil Jackson set to meet with Derek Fisher later this week to discuss the coaching vacancy in New York, the Lakers have reportedly turned their sights to Larry Brown and Scott Skiles as potential coaching candidates, Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported on Monday evening.

The report cautions that the Lakers front office has yet to make a formal decision on whether to interview Brown and/or Skiles, but the two former NBA coaches have popped up in conversations as potential candidates. The Lakers have already interviewed former head coaches Byron Scott, Alvin Gentry, Lionel Hollins and Mike Dunleavy. They've also held less formal discussions with former Lakers coach Kurt Rambis and former Nuggets coach George Karl.

Brown, 73, has spent the past two seasons coaching at SMU. He won an NBA championship as head coach of the Detroit Pistons in 2004 and has nearly 50 years of experience coaching both in college and and the NBA, winning an NCAA championship as head coach of Kansas in 1988.

Skiles, 50, was last a head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks from 2008-13. He also coached the Bulls and Suns.
