Julius Randle says his foot is fine and doesn't need surgery

Former Kentucky forward and NBA draft prospect Julius Randle refuted reports about needing surgery on his right foot and insisted that he is pain-free leading up to the NBA Draft later this month.

Various reports, including one from Yahoo! Sports said that several NBA executives were concerned about the foot, which he broke in his senior season of high school.

Randle took to social media slamming the report on Thursday saying in part, “it’s crazy how people put stories out there and have no clue what they are talking about.”

Randle was in Boston on Friday for a workout with the Celtics and opined about the controversy surrounding his foot.

"My foot is fine," Randle said, via ESPN.com. "Everybody has their opinion on what they should do. But I'm pain-free. No pain before, during, or after. I'm fine."

"[Surgery has] never been considered. I've met with my own doctor and talked to specialists, some of the best doctors in the world, and they said they wouldn't do anything with it. "

Randle said he felt the need to defend himself when various reports about his foot came out.

"I don't usually have to do stuff like that. But when I feel like people are saying stuff, and I know that it's not true, or when I know that the story is kinda mixed up a bit ... I felt like there was a little confusion and a little unnecessary confusion," Randle said.
