Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Tottenham Hotspur is still leading the race to sign Barcelona's Giovani dos Santos, and that Spurs boss Juande Ramos is enthralled by the youngster.

Marca cites sources in the British media as saying that Ramos will imminently file a $25 million bid for the Mexican ace.

Spurs are said to be in for a summer of big spending as they prepare for another UEFA Cup campaign, as well as a concerted drive towards the top six in the Premier League.

"Gio" would also be one for the future, much like another recent recruit, Luca Modric, but would almost certainly challenge for a first team place.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also lurking with potential bids.
