Spurs reportedly preparing bid for GK Hahnemann

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur is preparing a bid for Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann.

Spurs signed Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes for around $11.5 million from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven last summer, but he has failed to impress since arriving at White Hart Lane.

Hahnemann, the 36-year-old former American international, has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Britain.

His contract with the Royals is set to expire next summer and he is yet to agree a new deal with the Championship club.

Meanwhile, Reading moved to within four points of second place Birmingham City in the Championship last night after a 3-1 win over Coventry City.
