Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is keen to add Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki to his ranks in the January transfer window with a $9 million bid.

According to a report in the British broadsheet The Independent, the Brazilian World Cup-winning coach has been impressed with the 25-year-old striker's displays in his first Premier League campaign.

Zaki, who has found the back of the net 29 times in 48 appearances for the Egyptian national team, is tied for the scoring lead in the Premier League with eight goals from 12 games.

Chelsea is also believed to be keen to bring Portugal Under-21 forward Orlando Sa to Stamford Bridge from Braga for $6 million, although he could remain at his current club until next summer.

However, it is thought that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is very keen to sell before buying which, due to his links with CSKA Moscow, has brought about rumors of Brazilian striker Vagner Love joining on a six-month loan deal instead.

Scolari could also allow Brazilian center back Alex to depart, which would bring in some cash, and already has a replacement lined up in the form of Fluminense's Thiago Silva, who is available on a free transfer.
