Gabriel Cichero never really caught on with Red Bull New York and left the team earlier this year.

The 24-year-old defender has now landed on his feet, signing a contract with Caracas, a club in the capital city of his home country, Venezuela.

Cichero was actually on loan to the Red Bulls from another club in Venezuela's First Division, Deportivo Italia.

However, he only appeared in eight games for New York's Major League Soccer club after he joined the squad in the summer. Still, Cichero managed to pick up three cautions in that limited amount of time.

Cichero was subsequently benched for New York's playoff run even though a number of other players were injured and suspended.

The organization waived him after the 2008 MLS season ended.
