After Adriano's contract with Inter was terminated last week, reports from Brazil suggested that the player could be on his way to former club Flamengo. The 27-year-old began his career with the club and scored seven goals in 19 appearances before moving to Europe.

However, his agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, has quashed any rumours that Adriano will return to playing football immediately.

"I haven't spoken to any club," the player's representative clarified to Globoesporte.

"I have not been negotiating [on his behalf] and it is better this way. Adriano should stay calm. Now he is carefree, just like he wanted. We expect things to happen naturally."

The striker has been in Brazil since his last stint on international duty and it has been suggested he is suffering from depression. Inter opted to part ways with the troubled striker and were able to work out a resolution with his agent to mutually rescind his contract.

Nonetheless, Nerazzurri boss Jose Mourinho recently suggested that should Inter win the Scudetto, Adriano will be invited to the party for his contributions this season.
