With the threat of a massive player exodus, Toluca retained one of the biggest pieces of its puzzle as Antonio "Zinha" Naelson renewed his contract for at least another two years.

Zinha was joined by Paulo da Silva, Hernan Cristante as well as manager Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre as being on the outside looking in. But Toluca management wrapped up Zinha and now looks to retain its other pieces.

Zinha has been a standout performer for Toluca in the midfield for several years now. A 2006 World Cup veteran, Zinha has been a part of Toluca since the Invierno 1999 season and has played 349 total games while scoring 36 goals for los Diablos in that span.

"As long as he has the physical and footballing tools, he will remain with our club," Toluca President Fernando Corona said. --Goal.com
