Jared Borgetti was officially introduced as Puebla's newest player on Tuesday and quickly said he was there for one thing.

"I came to play," Borgetti said in a press conference. "That's the proposition and that's what drives, try to do the best job possible and try to help the team gain its objectives."

Borgetti had a washout season with Chivas. During the Clausura 2009 season, he had one start and played in seven total games. He logged 220 minutes and did not score a goal. It was his first Mexican league season since his debut season of 1993-94 with Atlas -- in which he played a total of 38 minutes -- that he did not score a goal.

The once-feared striker said he still has plenty to offer.

"I want to be part of a good group, contribute the experience I have to offer and try and lead the team far," he said.

Puebla reached the Clausura 2009 semifinals but lost two key players from last season's team, midfielder Ramon Nuñez and defender Duilio Davino, the latter of whom enjoyed a resurrection with Puebla. --Goal.com
