Peruvian club Universitario was robbed of 90 pairs of cleats and 50 shorts, which were stolen from its locker room at the Lima's Monumental stadium.

"Our pride has been stung because it's not possible that we have been robbed in our own stadium," the club's sporting director German Leguia said in a Reuters report. "What's worse is that this should happen on the verge of an important match against San Martin in which we could take the lead in the championship."

Leguia said the cleats are worth about $150 per pair and will be difficult to replace in time for the crucial game. --Soccer America
