In his first season with the New York Red Bulls, Khano Smith tried to make an impression with his pace and exciting play down the wing. He didn't manage to do so, and subsequently was cut by the team on Thursday.

After three successful seasons with the New England Revolution, he was put on the unprotected list in the 2008 MLS Expansion draft and was selected by Seattle, but traded to New York before he even donned a green shirt.

This season with the Red Bulls didn't go as planned for club or player, and Smith appears to be the first of a few significant player changes coming for the team.

In eight appearances for the club, he wasn't able to get on the scoresheet. A native of Paget, Bermuda, Smith has won 24 caps for his country, scoring seven times.
