English premiership team Liverpool has agreed to sell Spanish international winger Albert Riera to Russia club CSKA Moscow for a figure in the region of 6 million pounds ($9 million).

According to a report in the Guardian, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has sanctioned the sale following Riera's recent outburst on Spanish radio where he described Liverpool as a "sinking ship."

The 27-year-old Riera has been restricted to just 16 appearances this season and was scathing in his assessment of Benitez. During a recent interview with Radio Marca, Riera claimed that Benitez held a personal grudge against him and had zero dialogue with players.

Russia's transfer window remains open until April 8, with the Reds hoping to conclude a swift deal with CSKA.
