Porto sells James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho to Monaco for $90m

LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- FC Porto says it has struck a deal worth a combined 70 million euros ($90 million) with Monaco for midfield duo James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho.

Porto said in a statement to the Lisbon stock exchange Friday the French league club paid 45 million euros for 21-year-old Rodriguez and 25 million euros for Moutinho, who is 26.

Rodriguez, of Colombia, moved to northern Portugal in 2010 for just over 5 million euros and helped Porto clinch the Portuguese championship title for the last three seasons, scoring 21 league goals.

Moutinho has earned 42 caps for Portugal.
