LONDON (AP) - Manchester United players Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick have withdrawn from England's squad for the upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany because of injuries.

It takes the tally of United players pulling out of international duty on Tuesday to three, after Robin van Persie was ruled out of the Netherlands' matches against Japan and Colombia with toe and groin complaints.

Welbeck is out with a knee injury that has sidelined the forward since Oct. 19 while Carrick, a holding midfielder, has an Achilles problem.

No additional players have been called up by England coach Roy Hodgson to his initial squad of 26.

England plays Chile at Wembley Stadium on Friday and Germany at the same venue four days later.
