Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o an injury doubt for Croatia match

After losing to Mexico in their first match of the 2014 World Cup and a group-ending match vs. Brazil looming, Cameroon finds itself in a must-win situation when the Indomitable Lions face Croatia at Arena Amazônia in Manaus on Wednesday evening. Unfortunately for the African side, it may have to take the pitch without its captain, Samuel Eto'o.

Eto'o was dealing with knee issues leading up to the World Cup, and those seem to be bothering him again. The injury has kept him out of training for the past two days and Eto'o posted on his Twitter account that he is doubtful for the Croatia match based on doctor's opinion.

Eto'o is Cameroon's all-time leading scorer, so its attack takes a major hit without his skill and experience.

Croatia proved to be a difficult out in the World Cup opener against Brazil, with a strong attacking style and quality movement on the wings. If Eto'o is not on the field for the match, Croatia could very well be setting itself up for an all-or-nothing game against Mexico in the Group A finale.
