SI.com's 2011 Experts' Predictions: Women's Tennis

Caroline Wozniacki may have the No. 1 ranking, but Serena Williams remains the most feared opponent on the women's tour. The 13-time Grand Slam champion played just six events in 2010, but went 18-1 at majors and won the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Others expected to contend for the big prizes include Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin, a pair of future Hall of Famers. Samantha Stosur and Vera Zvonareva both seem poised to break through for their first Grand Slam titles after playing in major finals in the past year. Injuries may be finally catching up with Venus Williams, who turns 31 in June, but most tennis people have been conditioned to write off the sisters at their own peril.

Ana Ivanovic and Dinara Safina have both crashed in the rankings after brief stints at No. 1. Whether they can rebuild themselves into contenders is another burning question heading into 2011.
