Rybarikova outlasts Hercog in Monterrey Open

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) Eighth-seeded Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia outlasted Polona Hercog of Slovenia of 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (9) on Wednesday night in the second round of the Monterrey Open.

France's Kristina Mladenovic also advanced in the hard-court event at Sierra Madre Tennis Club, topping Russia's Vera Zvonareva 6-4, 6-2.

In late matches, top-seeded Ana Ivanovic of Serbia faced Pauline Parmentier of France, and second-seeded Sara Errani of Italy played Timea Babos of Hungary.
