After a pair of smooth first-round wins at the U.S. Open on Tuesday, Caroline Wozniacki and John Isner found some time to joke around at the latter’s post-match press conference.

Isner, fresh off a three-set defeat of Malek Jaziri, was conducting his presser when Wozniacki—herself a two-set winner over Jamie Loeb and slated to conduct her interview in the same room—entered.

“Just because you have been playing really well leading up to the U.S. Open, you’re close to the top 10 again, doesn’t mean that you should push my press conference out,” Wozniacki said. “I would appreciate  you being on time.”

To his credit, Isner played along.

“Now that I’m close to the top 10, Caroline is actually talking to me again,” the 30-year-old American said. “When I was ranked like 90 she would walk right by me. If I could get in single digits I think I can get some of Caroline’s attention. That’s my goal.”

The two exchanged some casual banter before Isner was finally able to get out of the press room and enjoy his victorious Tuesday.
