Colorado Overtakes Ohio State for College Football’s Most Expensive Average Ticket
After quickly becoming one of the hottest sports stories in the country, No. 18 Colorado will enter Week 3 with another statement claim to its name: the hottest ticket in all of college football.
Led by first-year coach Deion Sanders, the Buffaloes (2–0), following a rousing first two weeks, have now passed No. 6 Ohio State for CFB’s most expensive tickets (on average), according to Front Office Sports. As of Thursday, CU’s tickets are priced at an average of $517, with OSU’s average coming in at $512 per ticket.
Thursday’s news adds another feather to the proverbial cap, or cowboy hat, of Coach Prime, whose Buffaloes came into the season with added buzz following the program’s first-ever sold-out spring game and first season-ticket sellout in 27 years.
The Buffs went on to back up the offseason hype with a memorable 45–42 upset win over reigning national runner-up TCU, and a 36–14 win over Nebraska in front of another sellout crowd for their home opener.
With the publicity continuing to swell in and around Boulder, Sanders & Co. will look to keep building on their soaring momentum and popularity on Saturday at home in a “personal” meeting against Colorado State (0–1).
