Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield became the Big 12’s all-time leading scorer in the first half of Saturday’s Final Four game against Villanova.

Hield opened the game with a three-pointer, which tied him with former Baylor star LaceDarius Dunn at 2,285 career points, and then put back his own missed layup for 2,287, setting the new mark with 16 minutes to go in the half.

The senior guard has been one of the stars of the NCAA tournament, leading the Sooners on an unbeaten run and garnering consensus first-team All-America honors, in addition to his second straight Big 12 player of the year award.
